About the Championship
Where India's international schools compete
The TAISI Sports Championship is the premier inter-school sporting event for international schools in India. It brings together the country's top school athletes to compete on skill, sportsmanship and team spirit.
In 2027, athletes from 50 international schools compete across 15 sports and three age groups for the title of TAISI Sports Champion. Shrewsbury International School, Bhopal, hosts the 18th edition.

A new Under 10 category opens in Athletics — 60m, 100 m, 200 m, 4 × 100 m relay and Long Jump — and in Swimming (50 m Freestyle, Backstroke & 4×50 m Freestyle Relay).

Only the first 8 registered teams per category compete. A waiting list fills any dropouts, in order of registration.

Who can compete
Age is calculated as on 27 January 2027, the first day of the Championship.

Students must not have turned 11, 14 or 18 on or before 27 January 2027 to be eligible for Under 10, Under 13 and Under 17 respectively. For example, a student born on 27 January 2009 turns 18 on the starting day and is not eligible for Under 17.
ID
Indian students carry their original Aadhaar Card. Non-Indian students carry a valid passport.

TAISI member schools, and schools following an internationally recognised board.

A campus built for competition. Every sport runs on-site, on professional-grade facilities.
Certified lifeguards, an on-site medical team and ambulances on standby throughout.
Schools arrange their own travel and accommodation. TAISI shares hotel recommendations and local transport contacts.

Registration is open from 13 October to 15 December 2026, for the first 50 schools only. Fees are paid with registration.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which schools can take part?
TAISI member schools and schools following an internationally recognised board. Places are limited to the first 50 schools to register.
How is a student's age category decided?
By age on 27 January 2027. A student born on or after 31 Jan 2009 is Under 17, on or after 31 Jan 2013 is Under 13, and on or after 31 Jan 2016 is Under 10.
Can Under 10 students play any sport?
No. Under 10 runs the 60m, 100 m, 200 m and 4 × 100 m relay and Long Jump in Athletics, and the 50 m Freestyle, Backstroke and 4×50 m Freestyle Relay in Swimming.
How many teams play in each team sport?
Eight per category, accepted in order of registration. Further teams go on a waiting list.
How many events can a swimmer enter?
Three individual events and one relay, with up to two swimmers per school in each individual event.
What ID do students need?
An original Aadhaar Card for Indian students, or a valid passport for non-Indian students.
Can we change or cancel our entries?
Yes, until 31 December 2026. Cancellations before that date are refunded less applicable taxes. No refunds after it.
Do you arrange travel and accommodation?
No. Schools book their own. TAISI shares hotel recommendations and local transport contacts.
Can parents attend?
Yes but are not allowed to interact with officials and will arrange for their own accommodation and buy their own food.
When are fixtures released?
Indicative fixtures are shared separately. Final fixtures follow the 15 December registration deadline, once draws are done.
